Canada made the transition from Imperial measures to Metric in the 1970's. All sorts of conversion aids were produced: tables, 'slide rules', and a few specialised electronic calculators such as this model.

Novus was a consumer marketing brand of National Semiconductor. The Novus calculators tend to suffer from poor quality displays which lose segments, as can be seen in several digits of this unit.

Source: Spring cleanup junk pile.
State upon Receipt: Wet from rain but otherwise good physical condition. Non-functional.
Current State: Functional except LED display has 4 in-operative segments due to the poor connection of the segment wires to the display busses (05 Apr 2005).

Symptoms: Display 'echoes' the POC zero into other digits with decreasing brightness. Keyboard entries do not function.
Solution: Keyboard dismantled (melted pegs popped) to get at contact membrane so as to dry it out. Reassembled by re-melting remainder of pegs with shaped soldering iron tip.
