With the advent of microcomputers in the mid-1970s a few calculator models were produced which supported operations in hex and octal as well as decimal. The TI Programmer was an early entrant in this niche market. In addition to the 4 basic arithmetic operations, bit-wise logical operations (AND, OR, XOR, 1s-complement, shift) are provided, as well as conversion between bases.
