A sibling to the Miida MC840, in the same sleek wedge-shape case. The MC1214 is 12 digits rather than 8, and includes a user memory feature. The chipset here is just 2 ICs, in contrast to the 3 ICs of the MC840.

Good condition, functional except accumulator & constant keys fail to latch. Display is not very bright. | |
Functional (Jan 2021). |

Cleaned.
Small nibble removed from upper case to allow clearance for LED board.
3 wires for DP switch replaced.
Black foam for key cushioning is decaying, not replaced. Constant and accumulator key latches not repaired. Small bar inserted in key plunger for the latching mechanism has been pushed through the plastic. Bars are inside the plunger, but removing keycaps for access to reinsert them may result in damage to keycap or plunger. |

V-ds zener blown by slipped test lead.
Voltage drop measured earlier was 8.8V, probably a 9.1V zener.
Replaced with 8.2V zener.
9V Vdd zener also failed (zener voltage lowered to 5V). Replaced with 1N4739A (9.1V). |
